Hi all, I'm new here. I guess I belong in the vets section cuz I am 28 and started cutting at age 13. (my first broken heart) Anyway, I actually stopped cutting over 7 years ago with only two or three slips. But my most recent slip was only a few days ago and the scar is still healing. I'm really looking for some friends that I can actually talk to about things like this, who can relate. I'm tired of having no one to talk to about slips, or people that can't understand. I also have some eating problems though they wouldn't be classified as bulemia or anorexia, I suppose it's more of an addiction. Anyway, if this sounds familiar to you, and we may be kindered spirits, I would love to talk to you! I look forward to meeting people on RYL!

and ive been here at ryl and vets for about 6 months now.
Well done for managing to stop your self harm over 7 years ago.

. Well its ok we all have slip ups on the way, im still struggling with my self harm cutting.

You will find plenty of people here at ryl, and in vets who can listen, support, share with you. Well im sure there are people here who can help you with your eating problems, there are also some extra forums where you can post just about your eating problems too.

Please take your time to settle in and find your feet dont be afraid to ask anyone for help we will all do what we can to make you feel at home .

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome! Although I can't take all the credit for the 7 years, my x hubby actually threatened to kill my pets if he caught me hurting myself. Not that that was a great approach, but it worked, I am an animal lover!! My current husband and I have an agreement if one of us hurts ourselves (he has problems too) then we get to hurt ourself. It might sound unconventional, but it works 99% of the time. We can't stand to see each other hurt. Anyway, thank you all for making me feel welcome on this board. I have been to other boards (though not specifically for SI) but people weren't exactly nice. I have found most boards people seem to be vindictive and mean. I hope to make some friends here. Seems like a very nice group of people here. I would also like to extend an invitation for anyone looking for someone to talk to or vent to to please PM me. I am a good listener, and have been through a lot in my life, so I may be able to relate to your problems. Thanks again for the welcome!

People around the vets board tend to have a bit more mature approach to everything and not try to outdo each other. Its more a supportive atmosphere then the other boards in RYL...or that might just be my bias because I like the vets.

To clarify, I actually meant totally different sights, not this forum at all! :) I have had trouble on other boards on other sights. Not this one, at least not yet! LOL
