Someone help me please?
I was on MSN and my computer just shut down, with no warning....now it will not restart
The red action light comes on on the hard drive and the screen LED power button goes green, but then the screen LED turns yellow and flashes as if there is no connection to the hard drive
I have checked the cables and everything is connected properly
Is this a virus?
I hope someone can help me
Thanks

Is it working now?
Because my god, I'm scared to ask how you made this thread if it isn't.

How long have you had it?
It might be that the BIOS is gone. The BIOS is basically a tiny tiny set of things that help start up the rest of your computer. So even if everything is fine and dandy, if the BIOS is dead, it won't load.
Having said that, you can't really check if it is the BIOS.
But I think I can say without contradiction that it is most definitely not a virus : ]

Hmm. But then it would load, then just reboot occasionally.
I had a similar thing happen a few years ago, the heatsink came off my CPU. It would run fine, but any thing processor-intensive would cause it to reboot.

I just turned it on and it restarted...but then cut out again
I'm thinking overheat cutout
or
Power cable problems
Or something else externally
Perhaps even the imaging card
Hmm

Hmm.
If any of the componants were bought separately from the computer, try removing them and replacing them with a cheap bog-standerd version, to try and isolate the problem? Idk. I don't really know much about hardware, I'm afraid.

Tut tut.
Don't go on dodgy sites.
Then you won't get a virus.
