How do we solve this conflict?
We are two friends working on a game and problems communicating. We would like advice/reasoning/etc on who is right, who is being unfair, etc? These are our two sides.

Person 1:
My friend and I would have decided that we would like to create a game for fun. It isn't necessarily a game that we would have to sell or host online, just for the experience of doing it. Nothing that should create any pressure. But the problem is, we have different ideas on what the game should be about. I feel that my friend is being extremely unfair.
We planned on meeting midway and do a Pokemon game to see how the games are made. I enjoy having long, detailed adventures with more than one villain. One of my favorite villains ever is Masky, and her favorite villain is Gio. She decides that it is unfair for me to use Masky, but I feel frustrated because I see absolutely no love for him even though he is one of my favorite characters ever. I would enjoy making the game if we could work together, her work on Gio's parts and me work on Masky's, but come together for random other things, such as other characters we like that aren't necessarily good or evil. Such as side missions and stuff. The way I see it is, she gets to use her favorite villain and I get to use mine and get to work separately, but come together with characters we mutually like and create a story for them as well. She thinks it's terrible that I get a character I like that she can't stand, even though I am not forcing her to work on his side of the story, because I want to work on it myself. She approached me with the idea of making a game, but she refused to even look up how to make a game and got upset at me for disagreeing with her. She says I am being unreasonable and closed minded, but I think she is because she is refusing to even bother to look up how to make the game, use any character I love, or try to understand my perspective.
She is writing her ideas below this. I would like to know what you guys think. We do this over a lot of things anymore. She says that I am argumentative, but I disagree because I know we both love these characters and would have fun. She acts like if we work on our own characters then we should just do separate games instead of put both villains in, blend them and make the game more interesting and fun.

Person 2:
My point in making the entire game was to have something new as a hobby. I want it to be fun and relaxed. The topic that she chose is a topic I absolutely despise, that we have argued about many, many times before. We are currently writing a book and had to stop because we cannot agree on the topics or how to meet midway. I find it frustrating that she decided to chose a topic we argued over whenever I was trying to create a new fun hobby we could enjoy together because we are having a hard time communicating.
My idea of meeting midway was for use to choose a mutual topic that we like, not necessarily picking our favorites, but just something we can enjoy and possibly learn how to make games in a simple fashion instead of expecting a very complicated game. Using Pokemon as an example, if I love Kanto, and she loves Johto, and we both despise each others things, why not choose to write about Hoenn, or Orre, or any other region that we could both get ideas out of it and talk to each other about it? I think that if you have something you love and the other person despises it, you should use it in your own person game/book/hobby, or find someone else online to help you instead of the person who hates it. She even gave me this advice when she couldn't think up ideas on one of my topics that she is passionless about. Whenever she brings up this certain topic, she uses it as an example for everything we talk about. I'm tired of it, and Im' tired of not being able to talk to my friend who doesn't seem to understand why I'm so frustrated.
