First Job?**

So I'm 15 and this summer I decided I wanted to get a job to save money to go to NYC with my mom in December and stay with my cousin.

I found a Yogurt shop near my house that hires at 15 and I filled out the application except for the money part. Math is my hardest subject. So I called my tutor and asked her to teach me more about the money process, but for some reason I'm still nervous! I have a tutor lesson on Tuesday and I'm sending in my application in 3 weeks after I come home from vaca. But... I'm freaking out!

I had a nightmare about it last night, that I failed and I didnt get hired...

Any advice?

Yogurt! Yum!
Well, it will be awkward at first but most people are very understanding :)
It's normal to feel nervous! But so nervous, your getting nightmares, I think you should see someone about it. See how your tutor lesson goes :) Orr why don't you get a friend to come along with you, it less nerve wracking and it's fun?

You'll be using a till though when dealing with money? So that should make it easier, it's like a giant calculator!

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

you use a till, you scan the items, press something and it comes up with the total, customer gives you money and you input what they give you, then it tells you what change to give them.

However when you say yogurt shop, do u mean you go in and order something? in that case youd prob have to memories prices and stuff

It'll be pretty easy to sort out. Chances are, you'll have a till and that'll do the addition for you. I work in a shop on campus and it's fairly easy because of that - though most things aren't priced and you either check the price by walking to the item or hollar at someone across the store who guesses or actually knows the price (who knows if half the stuff we sell is priced correctly!) and everyone doesn't really care and is patient, even if you've asked about the same item about twenty times because the price just isn't going in! After a few weeks, the prices will come to you and you'll remember them easier - if you do, indeed, need to do pricing like that. You'll remember them whether you do or don't, to be honest.

I'd just relax. If you get the job then they've obviously seen something good in you and will be happy to show you the ropes and allow you to settle in.

I hope seeing your tutor goes well. Just take it easy with the panicking!
