I think they mean Dissociative Identity Disorder. This other self, Aloen, is probably parts of your feelings, memories, thoughts that you have split off from the rest of you for a reason. Usually something traumatic. So, in many ways, it does exist.
As Ami says above, it's important to get support to help manage this alternate self, and the ways it effects you, and maybe understand why it got there in the first place.
