i was just recently put on Abilify...
i am kinda nervous to be on it, its a new med for me...
has anyone ever been on it? what did you think of it? side effects??
i took one last night (my first dose) and when i woke up this morning i felt like i was going to vomit. then i had the chills and body achs until around 10am.
but im not sure if it was becuase of the meds or if im coming down with a flu bug
=?

I took it for a while. That sounds similar to the side effects i had. Actually it made me vomit, so the combination of the vomiting and chills and dizziness was too much. They lowered my dose until i was just taking half of the 2mg tablet every day, and that didn't make me sick, but didn't help the mood swings... so it just wasn't the med for me.
yea, i will still give it a week or so, im only taking 2.5mg
so i know its a low dose. i just dont know if i can handel feeling like that every morning =/
thank you!

Made me feel very sick when I started taking it as well, vomitted a lot, felt cold and hot at the same time, headaches, couldn't sleep. That's mostly passed now, I've been on it for about a month and a bit and it's helping make me feel calmer etc but not doing a thing for the voices.
If the nausea is really bad you can ask your GP/psych for some anti-nausea tablets, they worked great for me.

Glad the sickness has passed. I've been on Abilify for about 4 months now and all the side effects (sickness, tiredness) I first experienced have passed now.

yea, my dad told me i looked stoned today. cuz im taking the Abilify as well as Remeron. and i take both of them at night and they both make you drowsey, so i like look like a zombie alll day. haha, so i might take 1/2 my dose of Remeron so i stop being almost non functional

Hi there,
I've been on 20mg of Abilify for about 6 months I think. I was put on it in hospital and cant remember if I had side effects when I started on it, but I've found it helpful since then and dont have any side effects now except tiredness; but that might be from my other meds, I'm not sure.
I hope the side effects get better for you, try sticking with it for awhile, if it's not helping you can always come off it.
i have decided to call my dr. today to tell her about my nasty side effects and to ask to be put on something else.
i cant take this feeling sick/getting sick thing every morening for hours. and i have been afraid to drive because in the morning when i do, i have to put the airconditioner on my face to keep me awake and alert... Not Good =[

hi,
i've just been put on AD's not the same as you but GP said to me that a very common side effect were nausea and sickness. i seem to have been completely wiped out with tiredness/sickness and upset tummy but apparently these are onlly supposed to last for bout 4-5days, (lets hope so!!!!).
you could try phoning NHS direct (england) or similar to ask them advise about this tablet to see if its normal for how long you've been on them for and then see GP when next appoitnment available
this pic is so i can always remember jen who was my l'il sock monkey friend who has left ryl and i miss her!!!
It didn't work for me (schizophrenia) but don't let that deter you.
I had flashing vision, sickness and insomnia.
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
i talked to my dr. she told me to stop takin them.
they were not only making me sick... but i had to put the air conditioner on me in the morning so i would stay awake in my car to drive to work. and they make my hears go 100000x an hour.
they are (i hope) almost ouf of my system.... i feel a little better this morning rather then the other mornings.
i dont think it helps that i might also be coming down with the flue.
=[
because im sure fevers, hot/cold chills/ achyness/ headachs arent part of what comes along with the Abilify
thank you all who wrote me with your stories abou being on it... i guess it wasnt the drug for me

Yes it wasn't for me either and I relapsed while taking it.
What meds will you be put on now?
