Tokyo 2020!

Is anyone else going to be glued to the Olympics for the next two weeks? =)

Not glued but I am definitely looking forward to the equestrian events! I had to borrow my dad's cable subscription login to be able to watch. I'm more than a bit upset that at least in my country it isn't freely accessible.

But ponies!

I'm annoyed on your behalf that it's not easily available to watch over there!!

Ponies is not my thing but I do enjoy watching things I've never gotten into before. Today's revelation was taekwondo.

Unfortunately most of the equestrian events are on the eurosport player and discovery plus which i dont have in the UK. BBC is useless this year. I am not interested in any other sports though saying that I watched the triathlon last night which Britain won a silver in.

Yeah, the BBC aren't able to do live streams of all the individual sports this time round. It's nice to watch sports you've never seen before though.

Just watched Tom Daley and Matty Lee!

Need to find out what happened in the men's gymnastics today. =)

I managed to watch the limited coverage of the dressage that the BBC did today. Plus saw the womens triathlon which again we won a silver in (the other day was the mens triathlon).

I just saw that dressage was on today, was about to go check to see if it was on iPlayer for you but you're already sorted!

I'm going to watch the dressage freestyle when that's on. Very excited to see what the riders come up with.

They just put up a walk through of the cross country course and I'm dying at the ditch.

okay please help? i am behind and still watching but like. how can a human not have a country? don't they have to be from somewhere? there was just a pair that literally had none somehow. they just had the olympic circles on their saddle pad and coat. but they can't... not be from somewhere? wtf?

edit okay nevermind. a friend explained. apparently russia is banned for doing steroids? but humans from there can participate as long as they just do not say they are from russia? seems very silly. like you cannot say voldemort you must say he who must not be named when he's standing right there? very odd.

I'm confused about that as well, Auror! They're calling themselves the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) so they are saying quite loudly (but maybe not so proudly) that they are from Russia.

I watched a lot of the dressage, the women's gymnastics, and some of the cross country and show jumping. The dressage and gymnastics are by far my favorite. I use to ride dressage.

Right folks, you all seem to know what you’re talking about! What are the chances of GB getting 7 more medals before the end of the Olympics?
(We get 50% off our toilet roll order if they get 50 medals so all of a sudden this household is VERY interested in the olympics :P)

No other sadness in the world would do

Russia Olympic Committee.

Basically Russia got banished from the Olympics due to drug use this also includes major events. If the athletes prove they weren't involved in the drug use they can compete but under the name Russian Olympic Committee. The flag, anthem or any colours to do with Russia are banned.

They should be back in Paris in 3 years time.

I saw a fair bit of men's gymnastics and it was amazing. I also saw a bit of showjumping which was great. Right now I'm watching men's hockey.

Looks like you've got your 50% discount, Jenna. 51 medals as of right now. =)

Did you see the men's gym high bar final, Tamo? That was exciting!
