General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Swollen Ankle

About an hour ago I noticed that my ankle started to hurt and upon looking at it, its very swollen. I've spent all of today without shoes on, haven't twisted or rolled it and it's painful to touch. I can't see any red spots that suggest that it's a bite. Could it just be a be build of fluid that has come on all of sudden?

Could be fluid retention. Keep your ankles raised when you can and make sure you are drinking plenty of fluid and such. It can often be a hormonal thing, but if it dosnt clear in a few days then it would be worth getting it checked out.

Thanks for your information, it's not as painful today but still swollen. I see my GP tomorrow so will show him and see what he says about it. I've been drinking plenty of water so that should help it right.
