Where next?

Hey im new here but i am a 3rd year uni student who reached crisis point a way back. After a long yet mild history of self harm, the black hole opened and i have become dependent. I was convinced to get help as im now beginning to lose my ablity to function normally. I went to the GP who was nice enough and referred me else where, they wont take me so he reffered me to some service for people with BPD/ group therapy despite not having a diagnosis or anything.
Basically i got told theres up to a 6 months waiting list for that (and for any uni help).
I dont feel like i have that time to wait but dont know where to go? what can i do to stop the car crash of my life?

Sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. Unfortunately, there usually is a pretty lengthy wait (particularly in uni's where resources may be limited) due to demand. As an alternative you can ask to continue to see your GP for general support but they can't really provide any specialised help or counselling.
If you really feel that you're not coping, you can speak to your tutor and uni and ask for some time off / extended deadlines. Uni's are usually fine with this sort of thing if you provide evidence of mitigating circumstances, which would just be a doctors note. You may not even need that.
Meantime, for days or times where you're particularly struggling there are charities and organisations you could use. The samaritans are probably the most well known but there's always other options depending on where you live.
Is there anything in particularly that's triggered this particularly difficult time?
