Well on my camera, which is 10.2 megapixels, ive got an 8gb card and i can only take 35 pictures if i use the top quality, along with the highest resolution (which is something ridiculous like A1)
However you can leave the quality high, if you turn down the photos resoultion, when you do that you will get a LOT more photos for the space. On mine if you go to an A4 resolution it jumps from being 35 pictures to 3.5k.
Also make sure you check what image format that your camera is saving them in, sometimes you can change it to jpg only which will help to save space. If it also takes a backup in NEF or RAW, then you should disable that because those are the files that take up the most space a 200kb jpg could suddenly become a 30mb raw file.
But there is no real way to say how many you will get without knowing more specifics, however you should get a decent amount as long as you play around with the settings and dont use the tip top resolution.
