Voices are getting worse
My doc is aware that I have voices, but they're worsening. It's getting to the point where it's really unbearable, when an appointment with my doc and mum is switched into a meeting to find a way to kill me.
They're starting to seriously disturb my scholar work too, as they get in during my exams. I don't know how to deal with them anymore. Sometimes cutting helps, but now it's not enough. They impose images through my mind, very graphic images of me dying in horrible ways, and they sing lullabies to me - but morbid lullabies, telling me what a monster or a failure I am.
I'm in real distress here, I have a lot of trouble dealing with those voices. I'm medicated but the meds don't work. So does anyone have an idea on how I could get rid of them a bit ? Or at least make it manageable through a day ?

The only thing that I have found helps is listening to my iPOD. Nothing else helps me. Obviously this wouldn't be any good during your exams!

Thanks for your answer.
Yeah, I use the iPod trick a lot too, but it doesn't work very well anymore.

Does your doctor know how much worse they've got? I'm sorry I don't have any better advice but I do think you need to keep the doctor informed. It may be that your medication needs changing or increasing at this stage.

Our last appointment was with my Mum so I couldn't talk about it and I can't see her before the end of Christmas vacations.
So I'm pretty much stuck with my problem.

Can you phone the Dr to talk about it -like leave a message to say things have got worse and can she call you?
I'm not sure how it works in France though.

Niniane,
I can relate a lot to having so much trouble with voices. I have schizophrenia, and my symptoms sometimes get so bad that I hardly function at all because of their severity. I am sorry that they are so hard for you at the moment, and that your medication isn't working.
Is there any possibility that you could arrange an emergency appointment with your Dr before she goes away? Or has she already gone? In which case I would echo what Gernanium has said and ask if you could phone her to let her know how bad things have gotten and see if she has any suggestions, like raising your dose or something. Is that a possibility?
I know just how debilitating it can be. iPods are a great help to me too, but of course you can't use them in exams.
I'm sorry I don't have any excellent advice, I do hope you can sort something out and the voices get easier to manage.
Take care
Rara

Thank you both for your answers. I could call her, yes, but I've done that begore and she didn't help me at all. So I don't see the point especially since I live far away from her office and it's hard to get an appointment with her.
I'm trying to deal with it on my own, but it's really hard.
Edit : I just had her on the phone and she increased my meds. She also told me to go to the ER if it still troubles me.
