reading fiction and mental/emotional health

Tell us about a book you've read [preferably fiction, but can also be non fiction] that's had a powerful impact upon your mental health recovery in any way... :)

I have... too many to mention! I'll choose one and write about it later!

I want to open this discussion somehow at work with/among colleagues, or even as a one off workshop for customers. Whether I'll fulfill that dream I don't know, but I thought I'd practice here first anyway.

I read a book called 'Gargoyle' about a male porn star who gets high, crashes his car and is burnt head to toe, he even loses his penis. It then tells the story from his mind of his recovery, coming to terms with having a new skin, dealing with his new appearance (looks like a gargoyle). It's not based on mental health, but it really delves deep into the mind! :)
