The best thing to use is hydrogen peroxide, but other than that try soaking the sheets in a bowl of salt water for a couple of hours and then rinsing them out. Using a strain remover, like Vanish, might also help. Fresh blood is much easier to remove than dried blood but I'm sure if you wash the sheets a few times then the stain will at least fade, depending on the severity of it of course. If all else fails, bleaching the sheets will definitely help but this is likely to change the colour of the bedsheets as well so perhaps a last resort (unless it's common for you to make mistakes with the washing!).
How're you feeling this morning? How come you had such a bad night last night?

i hope you are feeling better this morning?
i find holding the stained area under and cold running tap and letting the water seep through, moving the sheet around a bit..
also, vanish is good for removing stubborn stains.
if all fails, (very last resort) couldn't you just buy some more, and then wash them so they don't smell new?
take care:)

You might try powdered meat tenderizer. It can be bought at most any grocery store, and it's not that expensive. Take the powder and mix it with just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain, and let it sit for about ten minutes. Wash the sheets in cold water. This one works (I've used it to take blood out of my clothes more than a few times) but it might stain the fabric, so be careful.
Another remedy you can try: take a teaspoon of laundry soap and mix it with a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Soak a sponge in this mixture, and blot the stain with it. I learned this one recently, and haven't had to try it yet. Caveat emptor. ;)
You might have some success with soaking the stain in club soda, though since the stain has had a chance to dry that might not work.
Hydrogen peroxide may work, but take care, as it tends to discolor or bleach out fabrics.
You might also try vinegar, if the stains are fairly fresh. A regular cleaning in the washing machine will take the smell out.
A few pointers:
Always blot, do not scrub; and work from the outside in. Otherwise, the stain might spread.
When you go to wash the sheets, wash them in cold water; hot water sets stains.
When you wash the sheets after treating them, perhaps it might help to throw in a laundry booster like Woolite or Oxy Clean.
Best of luck, and I hope you are feeling better today. *hugs* Try to take care. If there is anything else I can help with, or you just want someone to talk to, please feel free to drop me a line anytime.

p.s. say you got your period in the night and didnt realise. Or had a nose bleed, if stains don't come out.
