Hows RYL doing?

Hello!
Well I'll probably regret making this thread later :P But I'm hoping it'll stay civil and that people will be able to bring up issues without other people jumping on them about it!
So I'm wondering how RYL is doing for everyone at the moment? Is there anything you feel that is going badly/really well? If there is anything going really wrong,is there anything we can do to fix it? Do the staff(especially mods) have enough of a presence around RYL,do you feel like you can come to the mods with an issue?
Im also wondering how people think the new ED board is doing (this isnt an official review!)Does the ED board feel somewhat split or do people feel more comfortable? Also is there anything anyone is unclear about in regards to rules etc?
If you reply with an issue thats specific to you could you please make sure youre not discussing mod action?So...say you wanted to ask about the mods asking you to remove your sig, instead of saying 'the mods removed my sig and i think its really unfair, tell me why' can you say something like...'what are the rules regarding signatures' so they you(universal you lol!) dont end up with a warning for discussing mod action.

Thanks!
Liv.xx

O.o i was hoping for something a bit more constructive, but ok.

I know it will open up issues, but we can at least try to improve problems etc.

indeed... cant make steps to improve stuff until we know about it.

Hopefully this thread will be full of constructive stuff we can actually improve on on a personal level regarding supporting, rules etc.
I dont think there will be much be can do in terms of actual features of RYL as V4 is being built, but we can certainly pass suggestions on to Harley and James.

One good thing I love how the ED board is now I feel i can post stuff now to my area now we have a binge eating board. I still think sometimes the ED rules kinda thing are a tad confusing and wrapped in cotton wool but that might be just me. But I just post in the BED/COD board now anyway...

I am now not going to use this account as my main one from now on.

Laura.. how do you feel theyre cotton wooled? are there any specific rules/examples you can think of?
How do you think they could be changed to be less confusing?

Im glad you feel the BED/COD board is working out well. :)

the only thing I can think of is there seems to be a few certain members who post bitchy/unhelpful comments a lot lately. But I know thats always going to happen regardless, so yea.

Good thread though, hopefully it will be a civil discussion

I personally love BORIS. I think it's great and I feel really comfortable posting there, I can't comment on any split because I never posted there before.

I dunno. I think RYL is doing okay at the moment, but again I've only been here since v3, so I can't think of anything that I would like "bringing back" or whatever.
The only thing I think is that there has been a lot of competition about recently, and that's not healthy, but I think that's probably been argued out in different threads recently.

That probably wasn't useful, but yeah. It's what I think, I guess.

I hear what youre saying about competitive replies etc....Im not so sure what to do about that really :( But I think its really down to all members to improve on that sort of thing....I dont know if its something thats very fixable.
If you see bitchy replies please PR them!We may not take action everytime but its something we do try to work on.xx

Yeah I honestly think its going just fine. Obviously technical issues such as RYL mobile will be sorted. But in general, things seemed to have calmed down and a much more welcoming, relaxed atmosphere has ensued. Good job mods! :)

I think things are going much more smoothly than they were a couple of months or so ago. Or maybe people are less stressed? [I'm still just as stressed, personally, but yeah! Different kind of stress, maybe.]

Can you pass the suggestion of using the vB skin as an option insteaad of the default.
the background and top banner load as huge images on my computer and when you're running on slow internet or an old OS (or both ) it's dificult to load anything.

probably the "absolutly no numbers", but it's understandable.

as for confusing...
"mildly" vs "severly"
It's not in the SI forum.
What's the difference between the two, and is it *really* needed?
Yeah yeah i know it's an old argument, but since you asked...

[sidenote: i'm really not a noobface... just a new account]

I think thats allready in the works for V4

I must have you!"

Especially something I got which i thought was perfectly in the rules and i got edited post i'm still confused about that now...

Different trigger labels for ED board.

I do think the mods work well but sometimes are slow to act on things. Sometimes when I post report it takes up to 2 days before I hear anything back... and sometimes meets takes weeks to get aproved.

But I do think in the majority of cases the mods do work well.

Sorry but its very very rare that meets take weeks to approve and I think there are plenty of members who will vouch for the fact that their meets are approved almost immediately. If you feel your meet hasnt been approved, feel free to PM both charlie or I again and we will answer. There has never been a meet that hasnt gone ahead because we havent approved it.

Mmm there's only one time I had an issue getting a meet approvalified quickly, and it just seemed to be a bit of a lost-PM situation, but they happen. One reason why I think its a good idea having 2 meet mods.

And I love BORIS. I think its going really well, there's a nice community there, but I don't think we're too clique-y either.
