Rant - Why?

It all started when I brought my friend to a church overnight.
I told her ahead of time that I liked him.
I thought he liked me back, other people told me he liked me back.
She told me that she would never take him away,
when she really did.
So it all continues about her and it gets to the point where he doesn't like her anymore because she drinks and such.
So we played tackle football in 3 feet of snow for about an hour and a half, so we're freezing cold.
We get back in the house, and i'm freezing my butt off.
We [[We=me & him]] decide to go on the couch.
My hands are freezing so he starts holding my hand to warm it up.
Our friend comes over and sits with us.
So him[[the guy i like]] and i are holding hands under the quilt,
and our friend asks him about this other girl there.
As we're holding hands, he has the decency to say that he's "going for her"
I discreetly take my hand away and he invites our friend to play video games and leaves me alone.
Why would he do that?
I told him that I liked him.
Is he trying to hurt me?
My best friend & I are fighting over this kid,
and he says right in front of me how he likes her.
WHY?!

it sounds to me like this guy isn't worth it....he obviously doesn't care about your feelings....it seems like your "best friend" doesn't care either....forget the two of them you're worth so much more

well i dont know the guy so i cant really judge, but it sounds to me he might be a bit of a player. and if he knew you liked him and he still said that, then no, he's not worth your pain. im sorry your in this situation, it must really suck, all i can offer is support, and maybe if you talk to him about the incident, when your ready... dont rush it.

It sounds like he plays with other people's feelings and doesn't really care about others just goes for what he wants. You deserve better, someone who loves you for you and will stick by you.

He is one of those guys that isn't forward with his feelings.
yes, i understand that guys don't express their feelings,
but if a guy likes you he shows it.
Not this guy, he's new to relationships so he doesn't know what to do.
I've made many moves, and so has he. But in response to mine.
