Question... what do normal people think...? *TRIGGER SUICIDE*

*TRIGGER SUICIDE*

Everyone time I watch a TV programme and someone is ill/ hurt/ in trouble/ getting divorced/ bullied/ in an accident/ has been cheated on/ gets abused by family etc... (i mean, minor things as well as major things)...I always think "if that were me, I'd just kill myself".

I think that about everything. Every book I read or film I see, I just think - why don't they kill themselves? Surely that's the only way out?

I accept this isn't the way that a lot of people think but does anyone else think that?

No :( I have the feeling that if I ever got professional support they would just say... "why are you here? theres nothing wrong with you. go back to your middle class perfect life."

i think like that too so your really not alone . tbh i really dont know how others would think, this way of thinking has become so normal i cant really think any different.
not sure if that made any sense - it made sense in my head!!

:S

i dont think that, but i can see how you could think that. personally, i only think about suicide in relation to my own suicide, so i only think abou killing myself and not others killing themselves (if that makes sense).

I think like that all of the time, in fact I think I have posted about this before. No matter what happens to people on TV I always wonder why it doesn't lead them to attempt suicide. It might help for you to look at the coping strategies that they do use and see how they fit in with the situation. Suicide and self harm never really fit in with the situation and aren't logical methods of coping. Problem focused coping is the best way to deal with difficult times.

I agree with Trace, if you sought professional support I am sure that they would take your issues seriously and try to help you as much as they can. I hope that you're well, please get in touch any time. Take care.

I think like that all the time. I think suicide probably is my coping stragey.

I always think "I couldn't live like that, i'd kill myself"
