scribbled this out two minutes ago...

mirror
today, i forgot what i look like.
going through old photos for the
first time,
i saw myself as an outsider,
through a stranger's eyes. and what i saw
surprised me so much
i had no choice but to stop and stare at the
foreigner laid out before me,
in familiar situations,
but with a face i didn't recognize.
i saw a brilliant, loving smile,
facial expressions that
made me burst out laughing,
calm, beautiful eyes.
i looked on
and i found
stunning vitality, grace.
a person i would like to meet and befriend.
someone who could make my life
more than it is.

it took a sunny day to find an objective eye.

can't believe i haven't seen this one before.
