new poem, need a title *dont think its trig*
The oldest child,
She feels that Since mummy’s gone, She has to grow up. Help daddy around the house, Help her little brother get ready for preschool- Keep him occupied… Try to answer his questions. Where’s mummy? Why’d she go away? How would she be able to explain to a 3 year old? She wants to be like mummy, Wants to help… But daddy knows she should be a kid, He doesn’t want her to grow up before she has to. Neighbors come over to help out around the house, Daddy can get her brother ready by himself, She plays with him, But daddy is the one to explain- Does a better job than she would. Daddy says he’s proud- She’s such a big girl… Strong, Brave, His little angel… But she’s still a child- He wants her to enjoy that, He knows how cold the world of adulthood can be… Let her stay in the warm cocoon of childhood, Snuggled in her daddy’s lap, Until she’s truly ready to fly. She’ll be an adult soon enough... He wants her to stay a child as long as she can. |
