sorry i'm posting so much..again possibly triggering
Well I guess this is rant #2 of the night. I just keep thinking about my parents and how they just don't want to deal with anything. My dad is just in total denial and I suppose that my mom just wants us to appear like the perfect little family. Anyway, they both know I "used to" cut and yet this doesn't affect their behavior one bit. My dog passed on in October. He was 15. I had had him for those 15 years and he was my all time best friend. I told him everything. He was my baby, my confidant, the only boy I needed in my life. And now he's gone.:ermm: It's been almost 8? months and I'm still not over it. My mom keeps telling people that we're done mourning...I guess she speaks for herself 'cause just thinking about the hole that his passing left in me sends me into sobs. Anyway, I want to get a new puppy but neither of my parents want to take care of one until I graduate next May...so I'm just SOL. They don't get that it would help me with all of this. I doubt they'd care if they did. They just care about themselves, and not about how their daughter is dying over this:crying: . Honestly, this is why I say that I don't love my parents...because I really don't. I know, it's horrible of me, but I truly feel no attachment to them other than financial dependence. They raised me to be entirely codependent and then they crucify me for it. I'm adopted and yeah that's brought its own issues, but my dad basically abused me when I was younged mentally more than anything else, but he was known to drag me upstairs by my hair and slap me across the face for being "fresh" with him. My mom just sat there like nothing happened...yeah..I'm real good at acting happy when I'm far from it. It was never okay to cry according to my dad and he'd make fun of me for it if I did...I'm a girl for God's sake come on now. Anyway, sorry about book #2 it just pours outta me and such. So yeah...just hoping I can survive 'til I go back to school in late August in one piece. Wish me luck. I'm sure this won't be my last rant post here.

Loosing pets is hard-I remember how strung up I was about loosing my rabbit 'snuggles' 7 years-my best friend. I acutally remembering posting on RYL v2 about it all... They gave me some excellent adive & support I'm going to relay to you.
Talk about it. That's it-alright you're parents don't get, who's do? Maybe you could create something about your dog? Like a scrapbook with pictures or drawings-and memories of your time together. I found that looking over old photos of my Snuggles & old drawings I had created of her-made me feel so great. It's like "Yeah-she was such an awesome pet & I miss her" You kinda realise, it isn't the end & like any friend who's passed away-you'll see them again, even if it is only in your dreams. Okay-you're not allowed a pet that you think will help you get over this. Why not volunteer? There's bound to be plently of animal shelters that are desperate for help. Even pet shops are happy to get slave labour for free! It's very rewarding-and relaxing too. And since it's Summer soon-you can spend your life there! Keep in touch Robyn |
I'v never really had any pets but a friend of mine did. She was really sad about it. Like Belt said it's alright you're parents don't get, who's really do. Some parents just dont understand what ther daughter or son go through. It also is ok to cry dont listen to him, like you said you're a girl. As for this being your second rant that's ok, we're here to listen. Hope you're able to get a puppy soon. PM me anytime, take care.

sunny the mouse
I know how you feel, a few years ago my pet mouse, sunny passed on after being a good friend + mouse. It really helps to make a scrapbook of pictures, keep his leash, ect. It also helps to get a pet, if you cant get a dog, maybe a gerbil, fish, mouse, gunnie pigs ect. It also helps to make a grave site for the pet. It really helped me to know I could go vist it.
Take care xx |
I have his collar and his ashes are in an urn in my room. I also got a portrait of him tattooed on me..but it still sucks. My parents say it was so hard for them etc etc, and then they act like they're over it. How does that work?
