I just can't
I can't handle it right now.
I can't handle anything. 4 months since dad died today... I'm thinking about when I have to leave for Sweden and everything is overwhelming. I'm trying not to let it in but it's creeping in slowly, I can feel it. I just want to cut everywhere. Eugh. I'm sorry, I really am. Fiona. |
Hi hun,
Firstly I'm really sorry about your dad. Grief is a really hard thing to deal with and its not surprising you're feeling overwhelmed with a big trip coming up as well. You don't have to 'handle' anything- nobody could be expected to just deal with this. Don't be sorry. Right now, try to focus on keeping yourself safe and getting some support around you. We're all here for you, but is there anyone closer to home you can talk to? At times like this sometimes its better not to be alone to dwell on things. Also, if you felt you would be able to talk about your feeling then a grief counsellor might be someone you could think about seeing. The pain will get better in time, but you need to look after yourself and ask for help when you need it. Cutting might seem the only option now, but it probably won't feel so great afterwards. If you can try to distract yourself or be around people so you're less tempted it might be better. You're in enough pain already. There's nothing any of us can say to make things much better, but you will get through this. If theres ever anything I can do, please get in contact, my PM box is always open. I hope things seem brighter soon, stay strong sweetie. Soph xx |
I'm not going to be much help at the moment, but I wanted to try to give some support.
I'm not surprised that you feel overwhelmed- you're going through a lot at the moment and anyone would feel the same. I know you'll find it hard to believe at the moment, but things will get easier. Keep fighting and please try not to cut, even though it may seem like the only option. Keep distracted and keep talking to us, we'll help you in any way we can. Stay strong xxx |
What's creeping in is emotions you can't cope with-you don't want to cut. So can't you deal with them in some way? You can't just leave them floating about your mind, that's a recipe for explosion. Talk on here more! Call a friend. Write. Draw. Anything! Just get something out of your system. I usually watch a really sad film & allow myself to cry for everything I'm feeling right now.
When do you have to leave for Swenden? You've probably got time right? Then do some more planning-maybe organise & stock underwear according to size and colour? I usually find over-planning helps stress. Grief is a hard process-but you're not alone in this. There are other people feeling the pinch-dicuss your feelings with them. Stay Strong Robyn |
Time is always a great healer. The longer you hold out, the better it shall get.
