First timer
 

I'm having a difficult time and have started cutting again after years. I don't fit the norm: I started in my mid 40s. I have 5 years sober time, I'm very active helping others and do a lot of volunteer work. I should have gratitude but a Pandora's box has opened and I continue to escalate I've been hospitalized many times for depression and suicde attempts. I have lived with pain for 25 years. Any help for a cover?

I'm sorry to hear you've started cutting again. However, I always try to think of slip-ups as a bump in the road to recovery rather than needing to start from scratch. If you've been clean before, you can do it again :)

It sounds like you spend a great deal of time helping others, which is really admirable when you're not feeling great yourself. Do you have a support network, like a doctor, counsellor or supportive friend you could talk to? Self-harm and depression definitely shouldn't be things that are suffered in silence and I hope you have somebody you can offload to. Talking on RYL is definitely a great step!
