Voices
I've experienced voices/noises for a really long time but I always put it down to stress. I heard my name being called tonight. I'm not stressed and I'm not in a bad place anymore so why is it still happening? Thanks! X

Are the voices causing you any problems? It's actually quite normal to hear voices :)
|
They have caused me many problems in the past. They were the reason for my self harm and hospitalisations. At the moment, I'm coping but it worries me that it'll get really bad again and I feel like there is no obvious cause at the moment

ah, I see, that makes it somewhat more problematic! If my stalking serves me well, you are starting DBT? Does your individual therapist know that you hear voices? Hopefully medication and/or working with your individual therapist to tailor the DBT skills to your auditory hallucinations will prove helpful in managing the voices.

I'm not sure if she knows. I guess it's in my notes. I don't really have an individual therapist though. It's just group DBT but I guess I could talk to her individually if I needed to x

Ps I can't take medication as we are trying for a baby. The house was very noisy last night. Not sure why it's started like this again.
|
When are you next seeing your doctor/anyone? It might be worth making an urgent GP appointment first thing and talking to your GP about it and seeing if there's anything she can do to help.
|
Oh, that's unfortunate that your DBT programme doesn't have the individual bit too. Do you think you might be able to talk to the group leader about this? Even without medications there's definitely things that can be done!
Do you have a care co-ordinator or anything? I'd probably suggest speaking to someone within the CMHT or equivalent before going to you GP to be honest. |
