Needing advice on "clean days"

While I am mostly doing okay with things recently, I'm having this one issue that is interfering in my life and I can't seem to get past.

Some days, especially ones with a bad start (eg. nightmare, stressful day ahead, etc), I get into this state of mind where I need, what I call, a "Clean Day". While it's not entirely bad, it is a day where I just feel the need to be as clean as possible. I will shower numerous times, shave til legs are completely smooth, scrub myself til I'm red, etc. I get completely obsessive over trying to feel clean, but it's never good enough.
On one of these days I find it near impossible to leave the house, which, as you may be able to tell, can cause issues. Today, for instance, I am meant to be staying over at a friend's house with a couple of others (three of my closest friends), and I really don't want to postpone it because of this, because it already has been delayed by about 2 months. Yet, I don't know how to deal with this urge to be clean.

So, any advice on this would be really appreciated. I really don't want to let my friends down, and I do want to enjoy myself, I just don't know how to deal with this.

Does your frinds know how your struggling? maby you should tell them?
When you get there it will be easyer as you will be destracted. You will have your friends over and you will be doing things togerther. Maby make a list of things that you are going to and want to do toghter? And you could have a girly night in and do face masks and stuff that might make you feel cleen while being relaxing? Could to masarges and stuff look up things online?
