Mike needs some love and support.
 

Our lovely Mike (BigMike) is having a really difficult time right now and is struggling with self harm urges. He really could use some support and he doesn't feel he's deserving of anything nice right now so this thread is to show him that we care and he does deserve nice things.

Mike I hope you can open up here and talk about everything bothering you. You know I'm here for you and remember if you get through this, you can meet Arbie dog :) xxxx

Ok, tonight has been pretty hard :/

I was sat here with a load of meds just thinking about taking them all and Lanny talked me out of it with offer of dog cuddles, I know that sounds sillly.

Anyways, yeah I've been burning myself quite a bit tonight and it actually felt good but I know tomorrow i'll regreat it.

I think in the morning i'm going to try and get an emergency appointment with my GP...It's not really an emergeny but yeah, gotta try, right?

It's not silly, she gives very good cuddles :) I think an emergency GP appointment would be good because you can get your burns looked at as well as asking for more support xxx

It is an emergency if Lanny had to talk you out of taking pills tonight. Please ring up tomorrow first thing and try to get an appointment.

I tried to ring my GP office this morning, I got up early just for it but they still seem to be closed, you get a message with a phone number to call if you need a doctor but I don't trust it so i'm not calling that number.

I shall try again tomorrow I think.

Ok, I may have got the times wrong, fuck my life.

I've decided i'm going to ask for a referrel (sp) to something like CMHT (given we have something like that here)...I think that's the smart thing to do and i'm trying to do the right thing!

Good good. I'm glad you got some sleep.
As for the burns, it's common to blister, don't pop them or anything and follow the FA advice if you're unsure, and obviously the GP is you're concerned.

A lot of members here, myself included are under the CMHT and I know it can help with different aspects of your issues. I hope you get a referral.

Oh and when did you start the Citalopram?

Would you say CMHT were/are helpful for you?

I can't actually remember the date but it's over 30 days ago, I know that for sure.

Good luck with the appointment this morning, Mike! I hope that you manage to get a referral to the CMHT. The ones in my area (obviously just different to yours, just!) are okay, so I hope yours will be too. The MH understanding in your town seems to be quite good, from what I can gather from my experience, so I hope you're okay.

Please don't take pills or anything like that. I care about you and a lot of people care about you and don't want to see you struggling, so please reach out for the help you deserve.

Mike has seen his GP this morning and they have decided to send him to A&E to see another doctor. He's feeling pretty scared but I've assured him that they will look after him and give him the best treatment they can. He obviously can't text much but he's asked me to update his thread and if I hear anything else, I will let you all know.

Thank you everyone! Your kind words really do mean a lot and are actually helping me to carry on..Thank you! Sorry i'm not quoting them all and being nicer and all that.

Right, as Lanny said I went to see my GP today and while I was there he asked me if I would like to see a head doc (my words, not his) so I said yes, next minute he tells me to leave the room because he's making a call for it.

He comes out of his office and comes up to me and tells me the Adult Mental Health Liaison Team are expecting me at the hospital and I need to go there now, I won't lie, this freaked me out, I thought I might get kept there or something like that.

Anyways, after waiting around and all that two nurses from the team come to talk to me an asses how they can help me and what's going on and all that.

Here are the main points to come out of it..

- They are recommending to my GP that I only get one weeks worth of meds at a time because "it's not wise for me to have so many at a time"
- They tell me I also need to stop drinking, they actually made it sound like I have a problem with that which I don't!
- I need to get myself some friends and do something with myself.
- They have also given me a referral to a group thing called Shards, does anyone know it? Anyone have any experience with it?

The group does sound good to me from what they told me and from what the leaflet says...Might be helpful, never know.

They also told me about a free councelling I can get from a place called Cobweb, they prefer I go to this one as there isn't really much of a waiting list but I still much prefer the sound of the other even with the wait.

Anyways, i've gone on enough, i'll be quiet now haha.
