Triggering (SI/ED) - looking for some direction please

hello
sorry for lack of introductions....my husband and I want to start a fmaily, so I am trying to come off ym medication. Which is really hard. And I didn;t think it would be but it is making me really wobbly. I haven;t eaten for a while and am struggling with lunch (actually just looking at lunch!). I just feel huge right now. And yesterday I accidentally touched a hot pan - and it was the mst comforting thing, just made me want to burn so much. I haven't 'self harmed' for nearly 2 years...and it doesn;t go away
I've just been ot the shop[ and bough a load of binge food...I;m so stuck right now.
Bleurgh.

Hi Frankie,
It sounds as though without your medication old feelings and behaviours are coming back to you.

I haven't been through your situation myself - so forgive me if this is a stupid suggestion - but maybe if you think about looking after your body physically and eating healthily as things you are doing for your future child that will help?

Hopefully you have support from your doctor with coming off your medication. Can they suggest any safe alternative drugs/ other ways to manage your condition?

By the way if you don't get many answers from this board it's worth posting somewhere else too - i.e another part of RYL - maybe mental health?
take care. xx

Have you been getting councelling as well as being on medication? Having a healthy diet is imperative if you get pregnant so it's important that you speak to someone. Maybe having a strict routine of when and what you eat could help? As for wanting to SH again, coming off meds is always a tricky time. Did you ask the doctor about the best way to come off them? Did he offer any other suggestions for you? take care and good luck, Hannah
