Triggering (SI/Sexual Abuse) - I rang my mum and got triggered!!!

so tonight i called and spoke with my parents whom i do not have much contact with at all- this is partly my choice but in part it was forced upon me.

my mother stared telling me about her health and past mental health issues- she assured me that she is 'sane' now (whatever that means) and that she only head physical health problems. she ten went onto tell me that she too was a self harmer -which i already knew- but this time she was telling me what she used to do and stuff. this really triggered me and im in need of support, as i am unable to access chat this is a lot harder, please if you can add me on msn- the address is in my profile- i haven't done anything yet...

my mum also went on to ask me to go and stay with them and wanted to know why i wouldn't.... i told her that she knew why but all she had to say was that he never did anything and that i should stop lying and being stupid/selfish.

at the moment i really don't want to hurt myself but i think that sooner or later i will as i have very little discipline and control when it comes to SI.

please help me

Me too - it sucks that the person who should give you the most love and support ends up damaging you, but try and be proud of yourself for surviving it, and try to take care

I don't talk to my parents more than once a year, and cards on easter, mother's day, father's day and birthdays.

I really understand.

*hugs*

ps, added, look for a name that starts with susan and has a photo of a hot pink flower

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

it was mothers day last Sunday and thats why i ended up ringing my mum co si felt soooooooo bad for being like this with her, i dont ring cos this is what happens- she always says things like this to me. otherwise if they/ she wants to talk to me shell get my brother to text me and say for me to ring her cos its really important. shes never really been much of a mum to me anyway so it doesnt matter to much.

I just sent my mom a card, one with no real content though.
