I saw in my notes (glimpses of them) that once I was restrained for six and a half hours...(my memory lapses sometimes during restraints due to a combination of potent drugs being injected into me and just general traumatic experiences)
Sorry but it is physically possible to be restrained, kicking, screaming and resisting and all that crap, for six and a half hours? I mean that's ages...apparently I did faint at the end...from exhaustion no doubt.
I was "floridly psychotic".
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
Thanks so much Ranger Fairy, I just don't understand how I could last for six and a half hours...even after being injected more than once...

When ur rly unwell the body can last a v long time through aderlerine and drive to stop them as ur mind is terrfied. Thats my experiance anyway. I guess its bit like when someone is manic( i've been there 2) and the body goes on and on with no sleep.
*hugs* I know the mermeries r awful and can be v hard when they come.
*hugs* in my expeirience they like to use those kinda measures for way longer than stricktly needed, especially if they feel like their superior status is endangered, it's awefull I know *hugs*
Well I guess the nurses don't have much of a defence except their strength of grips and their power of the lorazepam and haloperidol needles. If those don't work, I have no idea what they could do? Anaesthetise you? Urgh.
Yes adrenaline makes you like that. I have a lot of adrenaline issues with my mood etc...
They sent me to a secure unit after that incident. It all started because my Voices set me off and I lunged at a doctor and attempted to strangle her (I did get her to the ground).

hi, sorry to hear that, i've never had to be restrained, i dont think? but the body is an amazing thing, it can go for hours, i've been manic and gone days without sleep! adrenaline, amazing stuff, i used to be in dance training, and you think you cant pysically go on anymore, but you do untill you either are forced to stop passing out etc, or the day or whatever ends, and then you cant move!
again sorry that you had to go thru that.
Xxx
*hugs* I'm sorry, that sounds really traumatic. I guess if you're a threat to the staff they have no choice but to sedate and restrain you until you calm down. But it can't be nice to know that it happened.

I have been restrained many times and for long periods too (not that long though) It is really traumatic. I have flashes of it still to this day.
Adrenaline has a lot to answer for eh! the haliparidol is strong for me and hits me quickly but the lorazepam takes a while and I have been 'on one' for far too long before.
Least now your improving Oly, that is the good thing to remember eh :)
I want to kiss the bottom of the ocean before I burst through its surface into the sunlight, otherwise I will always be wondering about what was left unseen at the bottom
i'm tired of chasing my dreams. i'm just gonna ask where they're going, and hook up with them later.
sounds bad i was held down once and injected as u with haladol couldnt walk for 3 days they gave me too much
god knows how u keep going for that long you are some woman i say !!!
must have been the intensity of the episode as you cant remember you must have been
i hope your feeling better these days are you still in the hospital
hugs
If those fail, they can give strong sedation that lasts longer and means u can hardly move. But they only do that as v last resort.
Well I was given i.m. lorazepam 3 times. During other restraints they've given me i.m. lorazepam and i.m. haloperidol... What other drugs can they give you that are stronger?

Yeah I tried to hit an HCA so they injected me and I just wouldn't give up and it went on for a quite a few hours untill they injected me again and I was pretty much knocked out for 3 days after being injected a couple of times. I guess I just gave up, *hugs Olympia* It must have been tough to see these notes hun. I'm thinking about you, only a text message away - always xx xx
