Larger frame & heavily pierced ladies ... please read!

I have a dilema.

I'm going to my boyfriends sisters wedding in August, and i need something to wear. However, i'm a size 20, and i'm covered in piercings and tattoos and need to look half respectable.

I want to wear a dress, but i also want to wear something that still keeps my identity, so im thinking something a little bit rockabilly.

Gah. Any suggestions?? Greatfully received!

what about wearing a skirt and top instead of address, like above, cos then you could buy a top that skimmed passed your hips/belly if thats what youre conscious about?

also, i googled 'plus size rock clothes' and it came up with loads of suff... maybe you could draw inspiration from there?

also, theres a website called 'vivien of holloway'... i love everything on there, and i think they go up to about a 24 on some of their stuff.

The above outfit looks a little to 40 year old for me... but thanks for the google tip. This has given me all kinds of pics for ideas.

Don't know about shops, I'm not much into rockabilly, or dresses.

What about that? That's nice and presentable, but quite gothic-like =]

Make sure you stick to whichever dress code is on the invites (casual, semi-formal, formal) and don't dress to over that. If you're going to wear black, don't go for blood red lipstick or anything (I had a chick wear a black dress with blood red lipstick and her hair dyed jet black to my wedding... it didn't fit the dress code at all and she looked really out of place) So if you're wearing black, make sure your makeup is quite warm.

Umm.... skirt and top is probably a better idea than a dress as you can mix and match. And if you can't find a skirt and stop that you like, there are some really nice dressy suits out there that you can dress up with accessories and stuff!

I don't know any UK sites but I googled dressy plus size clothing and came up with:

Yo ushould def post photos :)

Pinup clothing flatters bigger women like you wouldn't believe.
I'm a 16 and I wear pencil skirts, halterneck tops, little cardigans.
Wedge shoes are perfect, more weight can make it harder to balance on stiletto heals in my experience!

50's couldn't suit you better!

Show us pics when you're done, good luck hunting!

So far i am really liking this one. Im thinking i can wear a thin cardigan or balero thing over it to cover my tattoos.

I dont think there is a dress code to the wedding, its just that all of his side of the family are going to be there and some of them are quite old and have never met me before and i dont want to give them all heart attacks as im slightly different to his ex...

I guess i just want to make a good impression.

That ones lovely :)

Oh oh and unless your use to wearing heals, try flat shoes or the wedges ones that izzie suggested are good.... i wish I'd worn flat shoes for my wedding!

Post pics when you can :)
