Triggering (SI) - Cutting with Concurrent activity

Does anyone else cut while they are doing other things as well?

I talk to people online and generally suf the net, draw, write, listen to music, all sorts, while i'm cutting and straight after. Is this really screwed up? I'll be pissing about on facebook before i even stop bleeding... I think i answered my own question. I am screwed up. Anyone screwed up with me? x

I don't think you are screwed up.
Everyone is different.
I get very focused on my cutting and need to be away from everyone else so I'm never doing anything else.
You aren't weired or messed up or anything simillar

I do the same as you sometimes, though not always. so you're not a freak. or if you are, then we are together :P

I used to cut while I was online all the time. Also I carry on with other stuff like be on the phone, watch a film go out etc whilst still bleeding almost like it never happened.

I used to listen to music whilst self-harming, and on occasions if someone has phoned me whilst I am self-harming then I have carried on self harming & talking.
Usually though I'm quite focused on s/h. x

it depends with me, i tend to have two different types so to speak of cutting, if im really bad mentally, then i focus and i cut really badly and normally end up getting stitches.
or, i cut to just keep me going which are much less serious cuts. when i do these ill be listening to music, watching tv, surfing the internet while i actually doing it and whilst i waiting for it to stop bleeding.

I do that, don't really know why, but you are def not alone in this. I am guessing that it is some kind of subconcious distraction thingy whatsit but I don't know. *hugs*

It depends for me, usually i'm only concentrating on the SI so I don't do anything else while i'm self harming. Although I can also remember times when I've been on msn acting as though i'm completly fine whilst cutting or straight after. Judging by this thread you definatly aren't alone in this and you aren't screwed up. *hugs*
