*Girly topic!* Anyone else?

(Not entirely sure if this is the right place for this, so apologies if it isn't!)

I suffered from depression, which I now feel I have recovered from and am moving away from. But for like one week in every month, the feelings come back, and I just feel horrible. It's the week before
The following content has been hidden - Reason : word that I absolutely detest but also hate any other word associated with it!
my period *shudder at word!*
and most of the time I know that's what it is so I can push myself through it, knowing I'll feel better in a few days time. I was just wondering if any other girls felt worse around their periods? Not just feeling a bit upset or angry, but properly down? I hate being a girl sometimes!

I do feel like that a lot, but you're right, it's good to be able to know why you feel that way instead of worrying if you're going right back down. Even simply recognising that can help your mood not to get any lower. Try doing things you enjoy and eat lots of chocolate

I agree with Crazy Rabbit Lady, if you are finding it really difficult to deal with then try talking to your doctor. If you are embarrassed then maybe you could phone them or write a letter. Hope you're ok. Take care. xxx

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Thank you everyone! Nice to know I'm not alone! I don't get hugely down and it does really help that I know that it'll ease off and go away after a while! I've tried the mini-pill but it didn't make much of a difference to be honest, and the doctor was unwilling to put me on the....other type of pill that I can't remember because I used to get migraines and apparently the other pill can make them worse...or something like that anyway! (Nice to know I was paying lots of attention!)

my depression definetly is affected by my menstrual cycle. it can be bad but ok, as in i can live with it but usually the week before i end up suicidal and more likely to SI. Though since being on fluxeotine its not been anyway near as severe.

you're not along hun *hugs*

pre menstrual dysphoric disorder.
i used to be really really bad before that time of the month. spoke to my g.p about it and he prescribed a pill i think it was yasmin which helped soo much.

YES! I am always worse the week before my totm. I think in my case it's really bad premenstrual tention to be honest and then added onto the fact that I usually suffer from actual depression. I also have a tendancy to become more psychotic then as well and tend to SI.

I am fine at the moment as my antipsychotics and antidepressants have been raised and I find it helps with stabilizing my moods.

I say deffo go to your GP about it *cuddles*
