Triggering (SI) - Why Am I Still In So Much Pain?

I cut myself last night. I cleaned the areas and put a dressing on one of the cuts. (the others were more like a rash and I thought they'd be alright)

Anyway, I woke up this morning and was rather sore and still am. I was even worse after putting some antiseptic cream on it.

I get this nearly all the time after cutting myself. Does anyone know why?

well, the rash one sounds like something used to do,scratching. it just removes a layer or two od skin, that is usually sore.

the cuts, esp. id you used a more blunt object, it might have brusied.
i dunno, you might try the first aid forum. =]

The rash is related to scratching and it's not something I'm worried about - asi get it alot and know it's nothing to worry about.

There's no bruise around my cuts at all and I did use a blunt object. (kind of anyway)

Hey!
I do get that sometimes too.
I guess, that "shallow" wounds tend to hurt more right away than deeper ones... I donīt really know why, though...

Do you have sensitive skin? That might possibly be one reason. Maybe.

all my cuts hurt more the next day, was like i guess like bruising, at first doesn't hurt at all then next day all tender.

I feel so useless, so pointless, nothing left for me to say. Lying in the corner, can I make this go away? Let these curdled tears flow, burning from my soul. How can I exist?

I Get That Too It Stings Like Crazy I Just Badage Up My Arm So If It Gets Knocked It Won't Hurt So Much. As For The Rash That Probably Due To Sensitive Skin.

Blunt Objects Tend To Sting A Bit More And Leave More Scars Than Sharp Objects.

This Is What I Do When I Have Shallow Cuts That Sting I Run It Under Warm Water (which Stings But It Cleans The Wounds) Then Gently Put A Warm Towel Or Cloth Over It To Remove The Water On The Skin. Wrap Injured Area In A Bandage Several Times Fairly Tightly But Not So Tight Your Circulation Is Cut Off. The Pain Will Subdise Fairly Quickly. Hope That Might Help You A Bit.
