There's this series that's a 3rd grader series, it's the Hank Zipzer books, they were written buy the guy who played the Fonz... I love them, I've been reading them all break.
Kids books are just so great. They're usually funny, more entertaining, have shorter chapters, and are a larger print so the words don't do funny things as much and it's easy to read.

Beatrix Pooter is excellent. I bought a box set of them all.
I still love Enid Blyton, espically Famous Five, Malory Towers and St Clare. Those books helped me through a hard childhood so i collected them from charity shops as an adult

Most of what I read is written for like 10-14 year olds... kinda has to be though, cause being both dyslexic and ADD, anything written at much past like a middle school level is too hard for me to enjoy reading, partly just cause it's too much work to read it, but also cause I read really slowly so I get bored after like half a page... so yeah, I can read stuff written for adults, but not quickly enough that I can stay interested for long enough, so by process of elimination, I kinda have to like kids books
