i have been having a rubbish time recently...

my company went bankrupt and i haven't been paid since august...

i have been on the tightest budget ever...

i got evicted because even though i was paying my company my rent they weren't passing it onto the landlord.

and i also had to cancel my christmas trip back to england...

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT

I FOUND A CHEAP FLIGHT TOKYO TO LONDON AND I WILL BE IN ENGLAND IN 2 WEEKS

my older sister has no idea - i am going to surprise her at her surprise birthday. i am so excited!!!

and i get to spend christmas with my family... i am super super happy.

on another note, can you not claim your rent back off the company? surely what they did is illegal?

it isn't illegal what they did to me - i was subletting from them. the landlords are now in a fight for their money.

re my unpaid wages - i have insurance that will cover 80% (which is a whole lot of money for 10 weeks work) - but i won't see it for months.

there is a whole heap of stuff that could get me down - but i am so fed up of thinking about it now. it has dominated my life since august. i have a new job that started last week, and will get paid in 3 weeks, and i am happy with that. the day my owed money comes will be fantastic, but it can just come whenever it comes.... i have written it off so it will only be a bonus now.

plus guess what...

I AM GOING TO ENGLAND.

i just realised that having finished my christmas shopping AGES ago, now i am going home, i have to buy more!!!

but it hasn't stopped me smiling :) :) :)

i have had a rubbish time, and (bring out the celebration trumpets here), aside from one really wobbly week, i think i came through it pretty well. having had lots of friends around going through the same thing has of course helped, but i am well chuffed with myself. if this had happened a year ago i wouldn't have coped nearly as well. so there we go - i guess going home is going to be the end of it - i will come back to a new life in japan, ready to go.

i have a new private student and i met her today. she knows my (lack of) pay situation, so paid me for my first month upfront. very happy as now i have some cash to go buy my kid sisters some more christmas pressies.

december has so far been the best month this year.
