I think it's great that you feel ready to tell someone and get some help, that's a great step, so well done. I can imagine that your dad drinking might be putting some additional strain on you, and make talking to him a little harder. Do you think it would be helpful to talk to a counselor or teacher at school first? That way they could help you come up with the best way to talk about it, and some resources to use to help you overcome it, and then the two of you could present all that to your dad together. It might be a little less scary with someone else with you, and then you could also have some solid ideas on what you'd like to do next.

Hi there.

Sorry you're feeling so low and worried at the moment.

It's a great step to make wanting to tell someone what's going on and ask for help.

Do you get along with your father? You mentioned that he drinks - does this have an affect on you? Do you still feel able to speak to him?

As suggested above, talking to someone at school can help, and they can be with your when you talk to your father. Or could help you work out what you want to say.

It could also help to write down how you're feeling and give it to your dad for him to read.

How are you feeling at the moment? Can you identify what's causing you to harm yourself?

It's the ups and downs of living life this way. Promise me you'll never go away. Just stay with me through one more night because it's always darkest before the light and now I promise you I'll never turn away. I won't let you give us one less heart to break...

I'm glad you want to get some help and tell someone about your self harm. Can you think of anyone close to you that you can tell? Maybe a nurse at school, or a teacher you like?

I think telling your dad is a good thing, but you might want to also tell someone who can help you get some support like counselling or seeing a doctor. And they can also support you in telling your dad.

Sometimes if I find talking hard, I write a letter and give it to that person. It really helps me get my thoughts out. Maybe you could try that?

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
