I'm being refused cola and was wondering where stand in this matter becuase franlky its pissing me of that th enirsing staff are refusing me one of my fundermental rights, INNIT!
Because its full of caffeine and it makes being hyper which I don't think it does. They keep saying I need to degcuss it with the dotocter at ward round but its like the blind leading the blind in this place.
Yes, I was going to say the caffeine. Perhaps they are also trying to assess the impact of your meds, which is hard when taking a 'stimulant' type thing.
I was allowed coca cola when I was in hospital but I wasn't manic.
That said they confiscated my cans and I had to ask them for it. What about getting some caffiene free coke?

Like Cam says, diet-caffeine-free coke comes from Tesco (the big ones) so maybe it's worth getting some. It comes in a golden coloured bottle and tastes the same.

I wasnt allowed any coke or redbull whilst I was in voluntary whereas other patients were allowed it. I think they have to right to refuse you having it if they have good reason. I know they always took the cans away from us and watch us drink from a can incase we selfharmed with it.
Do you think you could ask the doctor at your next ward round why you're not allowed coke?

When I was in hospital if you had and eating disorder you weren't allowed fizzy drinks at all but if you didn't have an eating disorder you were allowed it, even if you were manic. But that was a really awful place and their rules and treatment were messed up to say the least so I can't really say this is why you're not allowed coke. Sorry useless post.
