Confused

I've been taking painkillers for a long time for migraines, cramps and more recently for a really painful cyst on my wrist. A few months ago I took a couple extra after I was really upset, it was kind of an accident but lately I've been taking two or three even when I don't really need them. I justify it by saying that my wrist really hurts (and it does) but yesterday I took quite a few and I did some checks this morning and realized I was one pill away from a pretty serious overdose. The max. I'm supposed to take are two pills a day. I've been really stressed and it helps me sleep but after yesterday I'm scared.

I'm tempted to stop taking them completely but I don't think I can. I've been having some symptoms of an overdose but there're not really serious. Just some nausea and drowsiness which is a regular side effect. Any advice?

I did that a lot I didn't know those were od signs.. -_-.

Pretty sure you take painkillers with food to not be nausious. However u spell that. I never did tho. Why don't you get your cyst popped? I popped a cyst I had in my head , was gnarly. All I can say is try to wheen off as much to get regular. I'm sure if you run out of pills before you're supposed to your doctor might notice...

I am currently:

If its such a high dose that you can only take 2 every 24 hours you need to speak with your Dr and try and get the medication changed/inform them of this emergin behaviour.
Your right they are 'typical' side effects, but they can aso signify OD and can potentially be lethal.
Please be careful

I did talk to my dr. (kind of) but he switched me off the painkillers and has me taking over the counter stuff. I can't get the cyst popped because it's right on the joint and they're worried about nerve damage.

depending on what over the counter stuff you're taking, you could still OD, just not quite as easily as the other stuff (I'm assuming it was a Rx painkiller?)

Don't overly beat yourself up over this, but think about what was going on. Why were you so upset, maybe figure out what better coping strategies are for next time you're in a similar position.

Hope you're alright. ODing is a b*tch to deal with.

I'm not ready for anything.
