Contains Suicide - Enough

I've just had enough.

I'm completely backed into a corner. It's my own fault for being too nice.

I need to get out of this relationship. I'm suffocating. I'm trying to leave it until January because it's the kindest thing to do. In doing so I've been backed into a corner over New Year.

He wants to meet up, I don't because I can't be fake and it would be cruel to end things at New Year. I lied and said I was ill so can't go to London to see him, he said he'd come to Birmingham instead if I wasn't up to it. If I were to end things he would probably come up on New Year and ruin it for my family. I don't want the drama. I just want a clean break but he's been pushing and pushing and clinging and clinging and all I've been thinking is "stay calm, it's Christmas".

I have tried to end things before and he's chased me. I feel trapped. I feel like he won't ever go away. I feel like the only way out is to just end it all then there's nothing for him to chase after. And no one will help me. I've tried to ask some for help, I've shied away from asking others. People just don't want to hear it, don't know what to say, are sick of hearing my relationship stuff.

No one has any idea. I am so isolated. I might as well be dead- this is taking up all of my life. I've tried. I've really tried.

Hi there

It sounds like you are caught in a very sticky emotional web with your partner. It sounds to me like the subtle and soft approach isn't really working. I think you have to be a little cruel to be kind and do it in one clear and swift motion. Perhaps it would be a good idea to do it before the new year so that you can incorporate a 'new start' for the both of you. I think that you need to make this break up clean cut so you can rebuild a world where you feel more free and comfortable.

Soon... Now will be then...Today will be yesterday... Present will be past...And thought will be memory... So...Live for the future! Make your future how you want it!

^^ That. I know how hard it can be, but you really need to put yourself first and do what you know is the best, for you.
If him 'chasing' you is a real concern, there are options to protect you; not sure just how 'serious' said chasing is? Not doubting what you're saying, just not sure.

It's over. That is the best you can take from it.
As for the friends you lost, perhaps try to reconnect. Explain (in whatever way feels comfortable to you) how he isolated you.
If they are true friends they will rally round.
I really hope at least a few will understand and be there for you.
Thinking of you.
xx
