My Social Worker Is Leaving And I'm Having A Meltdown..
He's been with me for almost 2 years. I see him twice a month. He comes to my home. He has been my "voice of reason" for a long time. And he's in his 60's and has been an authority figure to me as well as a supporter and the person that roots me onward.
He's been like a father figure, only a good one. I had a meltdown when he told me. He leaves in 3 months. I keep crying from time to time. I feel like I keep losing people. And he is such an important person to lose. I feel like I'm losing my father all over again, except a different type of father. I can't imagine never seeing him again.
I'm terrified how I will handle it when the time comes. He told me he knew it would be very hard for me and damn he was right. His last day will be December 31st.
can you use your remaining time with him to be meeting a new social worker? so you have time to slowly get used to the new person, whilst still in regular contact and getting support from the one who is retiring?

Talk to him sweetheart. Some people are in our lives for shorter times than we want but the difference they make is immeasurable. You will get through this because you are strong enough. Have faith in yourself.

I know it's weird BUT is it too weird that it's after 3am and I'm listening to angry girl bands and have found the site(along with many others) that seem to have the word "****" or "****" in them ALOT and I'm finding it ridiculously funny? I mean, I AM 34.....hmmm....I'll go continue looking at the funny pics...
meh good to have a little giggle at rude words sometimes, whatever gets the happy hormones running, plus you're overtired, that always makes things funny.

Sorry I didn't reply before, my head was wobbly a bit. I know how it is, to get attached when someone cares... & no amount of rational thought will make that any easier for you. But I really hope that you'll find it gets better.
I don't think I'll really know how I will be until he's gone for good. but right now it sucks. I slept today but am ready to sleep again...wish I could sleep 24/7....
You want to die because your social worker is leaving? this isnt right Rachel...can you see it doesnt make sense?...Ill delete this soon...I know youre getting depressed over the situation....but do you really want to die and not see Keith grow up because a social worker is leaving?

Sorry Rowie for quoting you :p. You just said exactly what I, and I am sure several others who care about Rach are thinking! Rach, Rowie is talking good sense over this. You need to read what she is saying and think about it hun *squishes*
And Rowie.....try and use some of that logical brain on yourself too! xx
I dont want to die simply because my social worker is leaving...sure its overwhelming.....I guess there are just too many overwhelming things at once. it would be nice to have a break in between but obviously, over the years, ive learned, that isnt possible for some.
it always hits at once - but then it only takes 1 big thing to leave you feeling exposed and vulnerable to even the little things you would usually get over in a heartbeat.

I know I have to live it. I'm doing the best I can. People are asking too much. I want to scream at them...GIVE ME SOME TIME.....SOME SPACE!!!
my family is completely oblivious. I made an effort to tell me sis how depressed I was. she actually giggles and told me to get over it!!!! ARGJHHHHHHHHH
I'M ****ING SUFFOCATING!!!
My mother is coming next week ...I dread putting on my "smiley" face. Actually, I may not. I may be real with her but then there is the chance of very negative consequences.
I DON'T NEED ANYMORE KICKS UP THE ASS!!!
I kick myself enough....
I have everything laid out for my shower and I'm so depressed, I dread getting up and taking it.....****!!!!!
Well. No. You don't have to live it. You don't have to do anything. You can give up and quit. Tht would be the easiest thing to do. But you won't. I know you won't. Because you're much stronger than you think. You can do this. You will do this. Love you.
