I am currently:
voluntary psych ward

i need help. been ok for a while, now things are out of hand.

is it possible to volunteer (im not allowed to be sectioned otherwise, due to shitty regulations) to go into a ward where the are many books to read but i can keep my phone?

i've only been once, not out of choice, but feel i do need help atm.
last time i went i was made to sit in a room by myself for a few days then thrown out once they realised im not going to top myself. i want contact with people at the same time though as well as getting help.

any advice?

Speak to your doctor and see what they suggest?

What do you want to gain from going into hospital? What do you think would help there that you can't get in the community?

I dont think you sound like you need a psych ward. I think you sound like you need to be held and heard.

Do you have any therapy or psychiatric support? Ever thought of group therapy?

In my area, you cant volunteer to go into a psych ward...but you can go in voluntarily if a psych/doctor/social worker etc want you admitted.

Also you dont normally get to choose which psych hospital you get admitted to, its normally your local one unless it doesnt have any free beds. In which case it would be the nearest psych hospital with a free bed. If you do go to hospital it would be best to take books in with you as things like that can be very limited.

Hope youre ok xxx
