How to help friends and family understand?

Hi, i was wondering if anyone has some good web pages or things like that that i can show my friends to help them understand depression and anxiety?? I haven't found any that aren't a million words long aha.

Hi there, although I'm from New Zealand they are running an ongoing campaign to help every day people understand mental illness, depression and how to be supportive of family and friends who may be suffering.. The site is called the lowdown and it is very helpful. www.thelowdown.co.nz even though I know this is a NZ site, I believe it can also be useful as a broader tool, or even a good starting point. I hope this helps )

Have you looked at the booklets on the MIND site? You can even order them to be delivered, I think, and they're pretty easy to read. Maybe you can write your own leaflet about depression and anxiety based on your own personal experiences, things that you find difficult and things that help?

Thanks. I was just really looking for something kinda professional to prove to, my friends especially, that it is actually an illness i have. I'll look on the MIND site :)
