RYL Sponsorship
So I might be getting a job soon, which means that I'd actually have money for this, and making that "your PM box is 90% full" warning go away would be quite nice, but I have two questions...
1) What if I don't want a badge on my profile? I'm not really a fan of telling people who much money I've given to something, and I'd just make a different account for that purpose except that I really want the extra PM box space. And,
2) How would it show up on my credit card history? My parents can still see my account history on my checking account, which is the only way I'd have to pay for it, and if they happen to look at it for some reason I'd really rather not have to explain to them about RYL.

Emily,
Firstly, thanks so much for considering sponsoring RYL! You can be sure that every penny goes right back into paying to keep RYL online :)
Yes, I can arrange for you to become a sponsor without the badge, if you let me know by PM how you would ideally want to do it, there are various ways that you can do it without it showing on your CC statement.
Firstly, you could do it as a one of donation, by cheque or cash or postal order if you're in the UK, none of which of course go onto your CC
Or you could do it via PayPal, in which case the payments would show as going to PayPal rather than to RYL
Or you could do it be standing order / direct debit - RYL runs it's own little hosting company (which hosts RYL) which is called Echo Internet, and that can be used as a way of transferring to RYL without it being called RYL.
Hope that helps, and once again thank you from RYL!

Thanks Harley
So if I used PayPal, it would just show up as PayPal, and not something like PayPal payment to RYL? I think a lot of times PayPal stuff shows up still as including where it went to, which most of the time is actually useful for knowing what it was, but for this would be problematic.

Well, my understanding of it is :
If you register your card on PayPal, and go make a paypal payment that isn't in your account as balance, it takes the funds from your card (thus hiding your details from the vendor) and this would result in the payment showing up as going to RecoverYourLife.com
However, if you use your card in paypal to deposit money in your paypal account, you are free to use that and it doesn't mark it anywhere :)
Hope that helps!

There's also these pay-as-you-go credit cards that you fill with a certain amount when you buy them. I've not used them, but have seen the ads on the tube over here. They seem like a good idea, too. :)

maybe Harley would take a personal Cheque and write on the back what it is for - he could transfer the money when it clears? mand x
