One year old pregnant....?

Hey guys,

I've just seen this;

Cliiiiiicky!

At first I was like, that's just a fake - then I doubted it due to the weird things that happen in science and biology - however, I have now gone back to thinking it's fake. Firstly, if it was HER twin surely the bub would be the same age - not a year younger. Secondly, it says 'twins' and then 'her twin' which is a complete typo.

I just don't think it's real; do you?

I'm only asking because I was trying to talk to someone about it but ended up confusing myself. I think they've taken a photo of a child with severe malnutrion or an illness and built a story around it.....? x

My great uncle had a tumour removed from him that was the remains of his twin, so medically that is definately possible I'd say, though obviously his wasn't in his womb!

Yeah, I don't think it's pregnancy, more like a growth or something.

I remember vaugely studying a case at uni where twins formed and one didn't form properly - usually in this situration the malformed twin will be aborbed by the living twin or will just stop growing (depending upon point in pregnancy) - but in this case the malformed twin got absorbed incorrectly. Sometimes this results in children with extra limbs (in one case that I know of a child ended up with an extra head), a single person with "alien" cells in parts of the body or even with a parson with 2 different sets of DNA, but very very rarely one feotus will essentially end up inside the other. It will stop growing but will attach itself to teh twins blood supply and then later on may begin to grow once there is enough nutriants avaliable.
I can't remember specific details about it al though, but I do remember that there have been very very few cases of it happening

Yeah; the growths and such - and also, about twins developing along side, or as part of - but within the womb of the other twin?

It's not possible for a child before puberty to become pregnant.

Wow... I was skeptical when I read this but apparently the mother had two embryos but one developed in the others uterus and apparently there have been other cases of this happening with other twins

Well the youngest person to get pregnant was six, so it can happen, however not at the age of one, but it just seems like she was part of a twin that didnt develope, they can be in strange places within the other persons body.

button is right. lina was the youngest.
she had a syndrome or something that caused her to go through puberty early.

Is the "baby" actually growing and developing inside the toddler? Or is it a tumor type thing that is growing. Surely there is not going to be a living, breathing, healthy baby at the end of this?

I don't really understand how the embryo would have survived throughout the initial pregnancy only to to then start growing once the first child was 1?

lou lou, if it's a fetus in fetu, ( a parasitic twin) they usually lack a brain and other internal organs.

^ I take it that's different from the tumors. As in, this is an actual baby that just got "fused" into it's twin and didn't develop properly? I still don't get why it would be growing for all this time. Surely at some point it would have stopped or died.

The article says that this kid is having a "cesarean delivery" as opposed to 'having the growth removed'. Just made it sound like there was going to be a child at the end of it, which frankly doesn't seem possible.

Out of interest...did the Lina girl actually give birth to a live healthy baby?

Surely this could only happen with identical twins (i.e. where the two babies have formed from the same egg), in the same way as conjoined twins? Don't babies form within a sort of sac in the womb - identical twins will share one, whereas non-identical twins will have separate ones.

But this girl's 'twin' is male, apparently, so cannot be an identical twin. Can't be true.

But I can tell you've been through hell...

even in none identical twins when one in malformed or dies early enough it gets absorbed by the other. It has to happen fairly early in th pregnancy though, if I remember correctly

Yes she did, a boy that she had addopted, she never told anyone who the father was though, or who did it to her.

I heard about the five year old girl who gave birth, it was actually really sad and I don't get easily saddened by things. I mean, she's pretty much had her childhood taken away from her. Bad enough she went through puberty that early, but a five year old cannot possibly consent to sex, so to have that happen to her and a baby to come out of it? Not to mention the secret she kept about the identity of the father. Sometimes the world horrifies me.

Also, her baby was named Gerardo after her doctor and was raised believing Lina was his sister, but found out at the age of ten that she was his mother.

And the whole pregnant one year old? Fetus inside a fetus happens, they just used that title to gain an audience. Much like the 'pregnant man' who was in fact a pregnant woman, undergoing operations and medication to become a man. Newspapers will say anything to get you to read them.

I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
