Just diagnosed with Bi-polar

SO...
All the people on my "treatment team" have been going back and forth for over a year now, debating weather or not I have bi-polar. Finally, after a CRAZY few weeks filled with ups and downs I have been officially diagnosed. I'm really not sure how I feel about it. I'm so confused! Things are going up and down, and I can't tell whats me, and what this thing is making me feel! Does anyone have any advise on how to deal with all the ups and downs (besides meds, which my psychiatrist is playing around with)????

Learn to recognize what triggers your episodes.
Keep a mood journal.
Make a list of what to do for when you are either manic or depressed.
Practice self-soothing techniques, and journal.
