Fast thoughts
my thoughts have been going really fast recently and its like i cant grab onto one thought and there is a rushing sound in my head with the speed of it all! arrrgghhh my mum thinks it could be because ive recently started taking new ADs but this has happened before but onky for a few hours not for days! i have tried running around and shaking my head to get my body at the same speed as my head but it hasnt worked i just look like an idiot! my mum says i should call the crisis line or she will call my care coordinator tomorrow and tell her because its making me wish i wasnt here again and i had to stop myself having a panick last night when i was trying to get to bed! does anyone have any advice because this is driving me insane!
please help

That happened to me when I reduced the dose of my medication 2 days running instead of alternate days. But it eased off once I got back onto the proper dose. I however do know well the panic and fear that it brings - I had a thread about it here.
It could possible be your medication. I would get an appointment with the person who prescribed them asap to see what they say and to sort things out.

Tell your care coordinator, there's no way that she will think you are a freak. I'm sure she will have heard alot more bizzare than that in her time working. I've had racing thoughts before and usually find that walking helps.

Please tell someone about it so they can help.

Aw hun, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I've had a major problem with racing thoughts. It's so frustrating, somebody asks what is wrong and you can't even tell them because your thoughts are too fast to figure out!
Definitely tell somebody about this, I was actually put on an antipsychotic to help with this. They might be able to give you an antianxiety or an antipsychotic to help slow your thoughts. Good luck sweetie.

i actually had this problem as a result of one of the ADs i was put on last spring. apparently it caused hypomania and then i needed to add a mood stablizer to help me stay level. i decided to change to different meds after a while because it wasn't really stablizing. I have had no problems with the hypomania since.

It sounds like you may need to change AD, as this one seems to be inducing mania in you - I would speak to the person who prescribed them as soon as you can.
*hugs*

thank you for the reply
its still happening and its horrible, i want my head back! i can live with other peoples thoughts in my head but when thats mixed with all these thoughts of my own that i cant control its just horrible!
i spoke to my care coordinator today and she said she was going to talk to the doctor and call me back, so i dont know what is going to happen but she didnt sound that concerned or anything so maybe im making a mountain out of a mole hill?
