Triggering (Substance Abuse) - Help me feel better.

I know everyone has those nights when they drink too much.....Last night was one of those nights. I got super drunk at this club I usually go to regularly, but I haven't been there in about 3 months...It was a "Glow Party," so I got a little dressed up, spent some time on my make-up, etc, and basically forgot to eat dinner. Bad idea, because I had 3 beers while getting ready and proceeded to drink whiskey and diet soda the rest of the night. I know the bartender/owner, too, so they were strong and I remember one was free. I was doing the drunken-swerve stand thing, and it's possible I may have tripped. (There's this stupid step to the back bar/stage, and I've tripped on it sober too.) That's really the only thing I feel really embarassed about, but I'm also worried about stuff I said. I usually get really self-deprecating and negative if I drink too much, and normally I am not open about stuff...

I just feel stupid. Last night was my first night there in awhile and first night out to an actual club in months, and I f*ck it up and make an ass of myself. I told myself I wouldn't and I did. I think I am just going to hide in my apartment for all eternity.

dont feel like you need to hide
nearly everyone gets drunk and regrets what they did the next day.
and the plus side is others were probs drunk to and wont remember

if it worries you in future then try to go out and not drink
try not to let it get to you tho x

Thanks for the input, Michelle.

I just am normally wound so tight...(I had a friend who told me I was "repressed" when he was really drunk...haha...I think there is some truth to that, actually...) I get embarassed SO easily, and so I tend to feel guilty when I "let go" so to speak, when I drink...Sometimes I think it'd just be better if I drank alone, you know? Though my one friend is super worried about me now b/c I basically told him that evening that I think I have a drinking problem....Now I feel stupid and lame. I just wish I could drink "socially" and not get too messed up, you know?

I am lame at life.

If I had a penny for everytime I got too drunk and did/said something I was embarrassed for, i'd be a rich woman ;0) I think that just comes with the territory of drinking. however, if you get that drunk everytime you go out, or you drink all the time, then I would definately seek help for that, or try and correct the problem. I dont think there is anything wrong with socially drinking, but if you're getting smashed because you're trying to forget problems or something of the sort, then it doesn't sound like a good situation. I definately wouldn't be starting the trend of drinking by yourself, that sounds like bad news bears :0/ I can tell you though, one of the reasons that i dont get completely WASTED anymore, is because i feel like i say stupid things. Or i'm loud and obnoxious, and sometimes its funny, and sometimes i feel silly afterwards. So now, i just have a couple with my friends and get a buzz, we laugh its all good, and I go home. So maybe you just need to adj how much you're actually drinking that night, because alcohol will indeed do that too you! Hope it all goes well.
