Anyone seen Lightspeed Champion/Dev Hines lately? I am supposed to see him in New York this week. I know he has a new album but just a couple bits play on his MySpace. I consider Midnight Surprise (from past album) a fav

I saw him last summer and I got a picture with him! But I didn't really know their music then as it was the first time I saw them and I didn't know what songs they were playing. But I thought they were good! He was wearing this mental hat which was how we recognised him.

yeah he is alright. olivia likes him a lot.
i think i find it difficult to get into him because i just find so much of his act/artistry ~ironic~ & arty-fartsy.

Lol - once you've seen his hair the hat doesnt seem like such a bad idea

I found out about him from Olivia. He's deffo a bit "precious" but he's still pretty young (22). These days it's harder to find a musician that writes their own material and both sings and plays -and uses violin. He's a bit outside the mainstream and doesn't seem like he fits a mold. Being born in Houston, raised in Essex and recording in Nebraska sure seems unusual. His blog can be interesting sometimes since he writes a lot while he's touring.

The venue he plays in NY is a little firetrap in Greenwich Village called Mercury Lounge (Jeff Buckley used to play there). The ticket is only 12 dollars and the crowd will be nice people (many of whom were from UK last time I went)
