Triggering (SI) - I've been played...

Hi guys, I apologize for the fact that I'm not on here very often, but could I please have some hugs? I just found out that the guy I'm seeing has been hooking up with other people behind my back, after we both explicitly agreed to become exclusive. As soon as I found out, I drove to the beach, smoked a whole pack of cigarettes and cut. Now I'm back home, and I feel so disappointed in myself for slipping up (I've been 2.5 months free up until now), even more than I do about being cheated on. I guess I'm just frustrated and angry - I've tried so hard over these past few months to be a good girl and get my life back on track, planning my future and taking steps towards that, and right now I feel like I've gone back to square one. And to top it all off, it's the middle of the uni exam period right now... I have no idea how I'll be able to concentrate and keep focused, I've been struggling with uni all semester, and I'm afraid I might fail.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you've got a lot to deal with, a slip up is just a slip up, 2.5 months free is fantastic and you're not back at square one because you have that achievement behind you, you know you can do it. You've made those steps, they haven't gone away they're still there and you can still aim for them. If you're having trouble concentrating try focussing during shorter periods of time and then taking shorter breaks, if you have thoughts taking over your head try writing them down and then have a cup of tea or something and then try working again. you can do this and you wont fail. If you are feeling very unsure about work, do you have a tutor you can talk to? I found that mine was very helpful, I didn't tell her that I SId but just that things were difficult at home and with my housemates.

take care and don't be too hard on yourself, hugs, Hannah

Thanks for replying Hannah. Mostly now I'm just annoyed because he totally wasn't worth me slipping up. I've found that if I go down to the beach to study I can concentrate better and my head isn't swirling with negativity. I guess there's still hope for me yet .

The beach is great for getting some headspace .Men just so arent worth it but they do it every time ,every bloody time .Its a bad time to happen though ,hope you start concentrating better .When the exams are over ,go out and find someone new and better looking ,that will cheer you up !!!
