In what way is it too hard? If they don't know that there's a problem then it's maybe understandable that they encourage the contact!
You mentioned the staff as a reason you weren't able to block them, but have only mentioned staff encouraging you to see them in what sounds like a 'real life situation'. Are you not then free to block them from contacting you electronically at least?
