Thanks Lana.

I didnt quite manage the 3 am sleep thing last night but I managed to brush my teeth this morning. I know that you are supposed to do it twice a day but atm that seems too overwhelming.

Good goals, Dawn! Do you know what makes brushing your teeth difficult? For me I hate the taste of mint toothpaste, so I was able to find one that wasn't as strong and/or a different flavor. I found that helpful. Or you could wear gloves if you don't want your hands getting wet, etc.. Aiming for once a day sounds like a great start!

Those sound like good goals too Miriam. For number 2, you might want to think about a way to be more specific or break it down some?

Camden it's the sensation of having the actual toothbrush against my teeth and it knocking against my cheeks. I have actually managed to find an tolerable toothpaste taste wise so it's not that the problem. I find an manual toothbrush better because I tried an electric toothbrush and that was even worse. Though according to the TV ads an electric is better but idk how true that is.

I hate electric toothbrushes too! What about just using your finger? They make little finger gloves you can get too if that's too gross for you. Or using a child size toothbrush so it is smaller and usually softer?

Electric toothbrushes are going to be worse if you can't use them regularly. I think as long as you are brushing your teeth it doesn't really matter what kind you use personally, though I have no education to back this up lol.

Oh, also, enzymatic toothpastes are supposed to be really good even without brushing/scrubbing. That's what we use for my dog and basically just rub it on her teeth.. I would guess maybe they make human safe ones too.

^I'm a dental nurse. Yes electric are better but regularly and properly brushing with a manual is better than sporadic with electric.

They dont make enzymatic toothpaste for humans. It's absolutely not safe for humans! There is also completely flavourless toothpaste if thatd help. And the more you close your mouth the more the muscles in your cheek relax and the easier it is to brush.

Given enough tea I could rule the world.

A CERTAIN MEMBER OF THIS SITE only has fennel toothpaste and so thatís what I used when I was at their house and I am TRAUMATISED/ love to complain about it at any opportunity.

Thanks Lillie and Camden. I managed to brush my teeth this morning. Still not doing great on the sleep thing but I am going to try over Christmas to get into a better sleep pattern.

Ohhh. Thanks Lillie!!! Super helpful to know. Woe that they don't make enzymatic toothpaste for humans though.

- Do my washing up the same day or the next day at the latest
- At least 6 hours of sleep a night
- To have proper meals in the evening
- Tidy my flat
So things haven't gone all that well:
- Managed for the first half of the week, then was too tired to do this. Still, manage to do better this week than in a very long time
- Only managed to sleep for over 6 hours once
- Managed most days
- Plan to do this today

Goals for next week are pretty similar:
- Washing up regularly
- At least 6 hours of sleep
- Proper evening meals
- Breakfast every day
- Clean teeth twice a day

black.shadow- baby steps! Slow and steady progress is better than no progress. Sounds like you have good and healthy goals that you want to achieve :)

Ellie, let us know how you're getting on with your goals.

Lio, how is your journal going and I think there was something about cuddling the cats???

How is everyone else progressing?

I think my goal for this week is to be less avoidant of my flatmates, especially as they are legit lovely.

I have brushed my teeth at least once a day almost every day since my last post. Still haven't done so well on the sleep thing but I plan to try starting from tonight.

I hope it’s going okay that mentioned idoser, I am sure you now understand it’s just mediation software I download to music on my iPhone, I hope people understand it simulates the feeling of being drunk, feeling energetic, able to concentrate, sleepy warm fuzzy feeling etc without anything chemical going side.

my washing up/keeping the kitchen tidy goals went completely out of the window the last couple of weeks but I'm chipping away at the backlog and finally catching up which is small but good progress.

Well done everyone for setting goals and achieving what might seem like the smallest of things.
