we've read (and listened to) them multiple times before (other than book 4). so we can skim read instead of having to focus, which makes it easier. trying to read something new and not be able to just skim would be really difficult so this is a good option for us for now.
we are about halfway through book four. so have to decide if we want to do the uglies series next (imposters series is essentially the sequel series to the uglies series), his dark materials, or do one of maggie stiefvater's series next. we've read the raven boys series multiple times, but haven't made it through the entire sequel series yet and want to. but that would include something new to us.
we would like to read something new but we just don't have the brain capacity. so we are trying to reread our favorite series (plural?) for now as a compromise. we got an old kindle for free off of nextdoor and finding it quite helpful.
Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.

yes, we hate trying to read on a laptop or tablet because we get too distracted. so the kindle is nice because it's a standalone thing. and was free!
we also want to reread the percy jackson series but that's gonna have to wait until we can afford to purchase the ebooks. the waitlist for the ebooks at the library is months long.

Attempting to read A Good Girl's Guide To Murder - Holly Jackson as an online book group are reading it and it's YA so it might be easier for me to read right now.
I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.
Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.
we were recommended little thieves, by margaret owens. really enjoying it so far!
Pitch it to me and maybe I'll add it to my list?
Also did you ever get to the top of the waiting list for A Little Life or whatever it's called?

Nick and Charlie - Alice Oseman: 4 stars
Proud of Me - Sarah Hagger-Holt: 4 stars

This is Our Rainbow - various: a rare 3 stars from me
The Best At It- Maulik Pancholy: 5 stars
Leah on the Offbeat - Becky Albertalli: 4 stars

Not My Problem - Ciara Smyth: 5 stars
Currently reading "Challenges to Living God's Way" as rage-reading (no objection to Christianity in general, but this is a really fundamentalist bigoted approach). My first ever 1 star rating and a scathing review will be forthcoming I think. Camden if you want to get cross I can send you some favourite bits...
Currently reading Paris Hilton's memoir and recently finished Britney Spears's book as well. Liking to learn about other people who made it out :)
Do you mean like in terms of recovering from MH stuff? If so, please may I recommend Dying To Survive by Rachael Keogh? It is the greatest book I've ever read and is a memoir about recovering and coming back from the absolute brink.
Pitch it to me and maybe I'll add it to my list?

Yes to sending us bits on this rage reading scheme
also we shall look up Ana on the Edge!
Re A Little Life, it came in at the same time as Little Thieves unfortunately and both had holds so we couldn't keep longer. And Little Thieves was long enough that we just finished it at 4am last night lmao.
So we're gonna have to keep waiting on A Little Life.
Re Little Thieves. OKAY. HEAVY. It's either adult or like old young adult maturity wise if that makes any sense? There is a solid trigger warning at the start to heed but doesn't get super graphic for the most part. Fantasy myth retelling with german... ish world building and terminology. Queer relationship (because no clue what else to call it) but isn't the main main character. Found family. Uhhh. GOOD. REALLY enjoyed it and was the first book in years we started and genuinely wanted to keep going on. Loved the characters even if they were all broken and screwed up.

Oh and necromancing a rhyming pony ftw!
Also quite literally the first time we have come across in fantasy where trans folks were mentioned as a world building thing in passing and thought that was REALLY cool and fun. eta - HAVE BEEN INFORMED THERE IS A SEQUEL TOO
we read leah on the offbeat a while ago. really didn't like it but tbf think we were just too old for it.
